Amber Green appointed to the Perry Zoning Board of Adjustment
The council approved the appointment of Perry resident, Amber Green, to the Perry Zoning Board of Adjustment. Green’s request was previously placed on hold during the Sept. 18 session following her absence at city council.
“I’ve resided in Perry my entire life, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to give back to the community that I call home and kind of see the inner workings of the community that I see as home,” said Amber Green to the council.
After her appointment to the position, Mayor Jay Pattee thanked her for her volunteering efforts.
Perry’s annual Safety and Employee Appreciation Day set for Wednesday, Oct. 25
The council approved the set date for Perry’s annual Safety and Employee Appreciation Day to Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Perry Fire Department. During this time, city employees will learn about policies, safety programs, and ways to maintain a safe workplace during the session.
Deputy Public Works Director, Josh Wuebker, spoke to the council about the day.
“This will be our 5th annual employee and safety day,” Wuebker said. “It’s a really great thing, this year we actually have three employees that are celebrating 30 years.”
“We’re going to talk about some workplace wellness stuff, we’re going to do a demonstration on the drone that the fire department has, and we’ll do general first aid,” Wuebker said. “I think the employees like it and it’s a good way to recognize those employees that hit those 5, 10, 15 anniversary marks.”
