PERRY, IOWA — Dallas County Hospital is happy to announce our newest team member, Martti. Martti stands for My Accessible Real Time Trusted Interpreter working to improve the lines of communication between patients and providers. With over 230 languages, Martti will provide 24-hour video or audio remote interpreting. Just over 50 of these languages can be interpreted via audio and video, meaning Martti can also interpret American Sign Language.

Martti will be able to track which hospital department and language that have the strongest need for interpretation at the Dallas County Hospital facility. This will increase the ability to continue to improve Patient- physician communication and quality of care to patients.

“We are excited to have Martti join our team providing a service that helps reduce anxiety for the patient while providing increased communication for the physicians to better access the patients needs and symptoms,” stated Angela Mortoza, Dallas County Hospital CEO, “We are always striving to improve our quality of care to our patients and our community. We serve a diverse population and this technology will allow us to access high quality interpreters in a timely manner.”
