The trials for Marc and Misty Ray, the adoptive parents of Sabrina Ray, have been rescheduled according to court documents obtained online.
Originally scheduled for Aug. 28, the pretrial conference for both Marc and Misty was delayed until Sept. 8 with the jury trial set to begin on Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel.
Marc and Misty Ray were arrested back on May 18 in connection to the death of their adopted 16-year-old daughter Sabrina, who was found at their home at 1708 First Avenue in Perry. The home was also the location of Rays of Sunshine Daycare, operated by the Rays.
Marc and Misty are each facing charges that include the follows: one count of Child Endangerment resulting in death, a Class B Felony, four counts of Child Endangerment resulting in serious injury, a Class C Felony, and three counts of Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person, a Class C Felony.
Josie Bousman, Marc and Misty’s niece will stand trial on Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m. as well. The jury trial for Justin Ray, Sabrina’s adoptive brother, and Carla Bousman, Sabrina’s grandmother, is still scheduled for Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Justin faces charges on one count of child endangerment resulting in a serious injury, a Class C felony, one count of child endangerment resulting in bodily injury, a Class D felony, and two counts of willful injury causing bodily, a Class D felony. Court documents allege that he “drop kicked” Sabrina down a set of stairs.
Carla faces charges on three counts of aiding and abetting kidnapping 1st degree, Class A felonies, one count of aiding and abetting child endangerment resulting in death, a Class B felony, and one count of obstructing prosecution or defense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
Josie faces charges on three counts of aiding and abetting kidnapping first degree, Class A felonies, one count of aiding and abetting child endangerment resulting in death, a Class B felony.
