Julia Helm, Dallas County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, announces that the nomination filing period for school board of directors begins Monday, July 10, 2017 in the offices of the school board secretaries and runs until 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017. All nomination papers must be filed in the office of the school board secretary.


In the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, two seats are up for this election, and the signatures of at least 50 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions.


In the Perry School District, two seats are up for election, and the signatures of at least 50 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions.


In the Van Meter School District, three seats are up for election and the signatures of at least 30 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions.


In the Waukee School District, four seats are up for election for 4-year terms, and one seat is up for election to fill a vacancy in a term with two years remaining, and the signatures of at least 50 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions.


In the West Central Valley School District, one seat is up for districts 3, 4, 6 and 7. The signatures of at least 42 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions.


In the Woodward-Granger School District, five Director Districts are up for election (Districts 1,2,3,4 & 5), and the signatures of at least 36 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions. Candidates must reside within the district.
