On Friday, June 30, Carla Bousman’s bond was lowered from $1,000,000 cash only to $500,000 cash only, according to records from the Iowa Courts Online. Bousman was arrested on May 31, following the death of sixteen-year-old Sabrina Ray.


A total of five individuals have been arrested in the death of Sabrina Ray, who was found deceased at the Rays of Sunshine daycare weighing fifty-six pounds.


Bousman, Grandmother to Sabrina, was charged with three counts of first degree aiding and abetting kidnapping, Class A felonies, one count of aiding and abetting child endangerment resulting in death, a Class B felony, and one count of obstructing prosecution or defense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.


According to Iowa Courts Online, Bousman’s pre-trial conference will occur at 9 a.m. on Aug. 18, followed by a jury trial, tentatively set at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 18.
