Here are three things to do near Perry this week:


1. Dallas County Sheriff’s Office All-Wheels Show:


The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is holding its annual All-Wheels Show this Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the square downtown Adel. Registration is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., judging will take place from 1-2 p.m. and awards will be announced at 2:30. Check out some of the finest cars in Dallas County. There will also be commercial vendors, free entertainment and handicap access.


2. Summer Reading KidsFest at the Perry Public Library:


Ready, Set, Kick-off! Summer reading is almost here, and Summer Reading KidsFest is Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is a free family event at Perry Public Library, the Carnegie Library Museum, and outside on Railroad Street. Fun activities for all ages include $1 lunches, face-painting, a petting zoo, walking magic show, scavenger hunt, games, a construction theme photo-op, crafts, and more! Come and see the Hometown Heritage collection and genealogy computers at the Carnegie Library Museum, sign the family up for the Perry Public Library Build a Better World summer reading programs, and enjoy fun, food, & festivities at the 2017 Summer Reading opening event.


3. Boys’ State Soccer Tournament:


The Perry boys’ soccer team has made it to the State Soccer Tournament once again, and the Bluejays will take on Winterset in the first round on Thursday at 2:35 p.m. at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines. If they win, they will play again on Friday at 2:35 p.m. and the Championship game will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit www.iahsaa.org.
