Friends of the Perry Public Library two-day plant sale

The Friends of the Perry Public Library will host a two-day plant sale taking place in the Perry Public Library Large Meeting room. The plant sale will last from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. All proceeds will trickle back to the Perry Public Library.

Container Gardening at New Opportunities on Saturday, May 20

New Opportunities invites the public to a hands-on Container Gardening class taught by Jenny Kluver. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. The class will be held in both English and Spanish. Admission for the event is a free-will donation to the garden project. The event is sponsored by the Hy-Vee One Step grant program.

Bikes and Birds bikeride from Minburn to Perry

On Saturday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a DCCB naturalist will lead a bike ride starting at the Minburn Depot and ending at the Caboose in Perry. The trip is considered a leisure ride with stops to listen for “spring arrivals.” Registration for the free event is done through the Dallas County Conservation Board, 515-465-3577.
