ADEL — Dallas County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Julia Helm, announced that individuals can vote absentee at the Dallas County Auditor’s Office beginning on March 31, 2017 for the May 2, 2017 County-Wide Special Election.


Individuals can vote absentee in the Dallas County Auditor’s Office at 210 North 10th Street, Adel, IA, during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through May 1, 2017. The Dallas County Auditor’s Office will also be open May 1, 2017 until 5 p.m.


Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. Forms are available at the Auditor’s Office, on the Dallas County website www.co.dallas.ia.us/government/auditor/get-an-absentee-ballot and at the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.iowa.gov. Please take note of the following dates:


All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. on April 28, 2017.


Ballots requested through the mail must be postmarked by midnight, May 1, 2017 and be received in our office by noon on May 8, 2017.


Note: Friday, April 14, 2017 County Offices will be closed.
